Taking the San Pedro Express Water Taxi to Caye Caulker

The San Pedro Express Water Taxi will take you to Caye Caulker, Island. Their schedule is online, and you can purchase tickets in advance from their site or at the dock. It’s safest to do this online in advance to avoid a line and possibly missing a departure. If you get them in person, be sure to leave 10-15 minutes in case there is a line. Current prices for a round trip are **$25 US** for an adult and $20 for children ages 4-10. The water taxi takes approximately 45 minutes to reach Caye Caulker. There is WiFi available at the Water Taxi station. They don’t give out passwords, but you can hand your phone to an attendant and they’ll type in the password for you. If you’ve booked a tour in advance and are running late, be sure to email us to let us know. Once you arive at Caye Caulker, turn right and walk about 4 minutes to the dock. See instructions below.

From the Caye Caulker Water Taxi to the Dock

If you’re already on Caye Caulker Island, then you’re just a short walk away! From the Water Taxi, just turn right and walk north towards the split of the island. It’s about 4 minutes to the Caveman Snorkeling Tours (on the right), by a big Sponge Bob sign. We are located in a building on the dock. There are also golf cart taxis available at the water taxi if you’d prefer a ride.

Flying Directly Into Caye Caulker

If you are flying into Belize and heading directly to Caye Caulker Island and you’d like to save time, then considering using Tropic Air and Maya Air to reach there; both fly directly to Caye Caulker from the Belize City International Airport. This is a convenient option as it avoids a $30 US and ~30 minute taxi (car, fixed price) ride from the airport to the water taxi, and a ~$15 45 min water taxi ride (with scheduled departures between 30 min and 1.5 hours apart). Plus it is literally a 10 minute flight which leaves roughly an every hour, versus lining up multiple hops that take a minimum of 2 hours. If you fly into Caye Caulker, you will need to get from the Caye Caulker airstrip to Caveman Snorkeling Tours. There will generally be golf cart taxis available from there, or it’s about a 20 minute walk from that airstrip.

Coming From a Cruise Ship

Cruise Ships anchor at sea, outside of our Belizean Barrier Reef when they arrive at Belize City. Tender Boats will then transfer cruise tourists from their ship to mainland Belize City, at the Belize City Tourism Village. To get to Caveman Snorkeling Tours, you go to the San Pedro Express Water Taxi, which brings you to Caye Caulker Island….. When there, turn right and walk about 4 minutes to our dock. From the Tourism Village to the Water Taxi

This is only a couple of yards away, a very short walk or taxi ride to the San Pedro Water Taxi. Once here, you can take the Water Taxi to Caye Caulker… Then you can follow these instructions when you arrive on Caye Caulker, Island. Or you can go to the Belize City Municipal Airstrip and take a short 10 minutes flight to Caye Caulker Island – View. Here are instructions when you reach to Caye Caulker Island.

From the Belize City International Airport

Taxi (car) From the International Airport to the Water Taxi

From the airport, you can take a taxi (car) to the San Pedro Express Water Taxi. The price is fixed, currently $30, and generally takes 20-30 minutes. Just before you step outside the airport you’ll see a little booth where the taxi dispatcher works. Let them know where you’re going, pay them and you’ll get a ticket you hand to the cab driver. Note that multiple drop-offs are NOT included in the fare. If you are travelling in a group and need some from your party dropped off at a different location, let the dispatcher know and the fare will be increased accordingly. When you board the water taxi in Belize City, it with be about a 45 minutes journey to reach Caye Caulker Island.. When you arrive on the Island, follow these instructions to reach us.

From the Belize City Municipal Airport

Regular Tourists and/or Cruise Ship Tourists can use the cesna planes from Belize City Municipal Airport to get to Caye Caulker Island. It is on a 10-15 minutes flight from the City to the Airport, using Tropic Air or Maya Island Air. A land taxi can take you to the Municipal Airport. You will most likely be flying into the International Airport, and if so follow these instructions. If flying into the municipal airport, from other parts of Belize, you can take a taxi (car) to the San Pedro Express Water Taxi. Once here, you can take the Water Taxi to Caye Caulker Island. From Anywhere Else in Belize City

You can take a taxi (car) or walk to the San Pedro Express Water Taxi OR use the planes from Belize City Municipal Airstrip – Tropic Air | Maya Island Air, to reach to Caye Caulker Island, then Caveman Snorkeling Tours. When you reach on the island, follow these instructions.
